Broadcast Electronics’ AMX AM Transmitter Wins Future’s Best of Show Award, Presented by Radio World

Ultra compact high-efficiency 5kW AM transmitter in a super-compact 5 rack units wins at NAB 2026.

Las Vegas, April 2026 — The new AMX ultra-compact AM transmitter platform manufactured by Broadcast Electronics is the recipient of Future’s Best of Show Award, presented at the 2026 NAB Show by Radio World.  The AMX platform represents the most dramatic technological leap in AM radio in over 20 years, offering broadcasters best-in-class power efficiency, footprint compression, scalability and simple modular front panel serviceability – all at a highly competitive price point

Future’s Best of Show Awards are evaluated by an independent panel of engineers and industry experts and are selected based on innovation, feature set, perceived value, and application in serving the industry.

Broadcast Electronics AMX delivers a remarkable 5kW in a single 5 RU chassis for Analog, HD Radio, or DRM broadcasts. AMX is compact, lightweight, and easily shippable via UPS or FedEx — an industry-first that drastically reduces shipping and logistics costs while simplifying installation and shrinking transmitter site space and costs.

AMX is first to market with Silicon Carbide MOSFET RF amplifier and modulator modules leveraging proven technology deployed in electric vehicle drives for nearly 10 years. Silicon Carbide has numerous advantages over conventional MOSFETs used in all prior AM transmitter designs, such as increased voltage and current capability, reduced capacitance, and increased robustness. This breakthrough makes AMX far higher in performance and more reliable than other technologies.

“Industry recognition for AMX and the innovation our team of talented engineers create for the market highlights the results of the customer-focused innovation and energy we are bringing to BE to provide cost-effective tools to help our customers connect with their listeners in an evolving market,” said Rich Redmond, President and CEO of Broadcast Electronics. “AMX builds on the legacy of radio-first innovation BE delivers to broadcasters as the only partner providing workflow solutions that enable the creation, monetization, distribution, and delivery of content for radio stations.”
