Compact transmitters enable geo-targeted content in St. George, Utah for KADD
Quincy Illinois, August 17, 2025 — Broadcast Electronics, a global leader in designing and manufacturing broadcast products, including transmitters for AM, FM, HD Radio®, TV and media software, has a long history of providing rapid, high-quality service to their customers. GeoBroadcast Solutions (GBS) and their client, Radio Activo Broadcasting, worked with Broadcast Electronics to implement GBS’s ZoneCasting technology for their station KADD La Mejor 93.5 with the new BE ETX line of transmitters with power options ranging from 600 watts to 30 kW.
Broadcast Electronics’ ETX series delivers a high-performance, cost-effective solution, leveraging highly efficient and compact RF technology from today’s latest ruggedized LDMOS RF devices and modular power supplies. With efficiency up to 75%, the ETX provides the compactness and reliability today’s broadcasters expect.
KADD La Mejor 93.5 has been at the forefront of delivering Spanish language content to the dynamic and diverse audience of the greater Las Vegas area. Previously, KADD and sister stations KXLI increased their market reach by nearly 400,000 people using GBS’s MaxxCasting® system. Now, they are expanding their footprint to St. George, Utah. ZoneCasting will allow KADD to target Las Vegas as one zone, encompassing the main signal and three boosters that deliver content specific to the Las Vegas area. St. George forms another distinct zone, with multiple boosters broadcasting customized content without relying on the main Las Vegas signal.
“La Mejor 93.5’s implementation of ZoneCasting enables customized content and advertising for different areas, unlocking new revenue streams while maintaining high-quality service to all areas within the station’s licensed reach,” said Paul Littleton, CTO of GBS. “The BE ETX transmitters were ideal for our needs. Installation was straightforward, operation is simple, and the sound quality is great in this demanding application.”
“We are excited about our partnership with GeoBroadcast Solutions and La Mejor 93.5, and thank them for selecting BE to help deliver the first commercial ZoneCasting system,” said Rich Redmond, President and COO of Broadcast Electronics, “The new ETX line is ideally suited for the demands of both MaxxCasting and ZoneCasting single-frequency networks. It offers excellent energy efficiency, a digital direct-to-channel FM modulator, and ultra-reliable, highly efficient hot-pluggable power supplies to deliver the maintainability and robustness at an exceptional price.”
